Heat wave in Spain, snow storms in Alps

Weather is bringing new surprises for Europeans. While Spain is battling forest fires on hundreds of hectares in Catalonia, a regular round of the Tour de France cycling race may be postponed due to a heavy snowstorm in the Alps. In Poland, gale-force winds and thunderstorms destroyed agricultural crops and uprooted trees.
In the southern hemisphere, downpours have hit Australia, one of the world’s sunniest countries. Sydney received a month’s worth of rainfall within 24 hours.
