Sendai, Honshu, Japan - A major 7.2 earthquake has struck off the northeast coast of Honshu, damage on the mainland is not expected, a small tsunami was generated.

Tsunami Threat: A local Tsunami is expected along the northeast shore of Honshu of only 1.5 feet or 0.5 meters.
For the Pacific Ocean basin including Hawaii, Alaska, BC, California, and Mexico – neither a Tsunami Watch or Warning has been issued.
Damage – Damage is not expected.
Aftershocks of greater than 6.0 are expected for the next 72 hours.
